These artificial teeth have been methodically studied in order to fully pursue the patterns of occlusion (mainly “morphology”), the stability and the masticatory efficiency. Furthermore ST21 (Systemic Teeth 21) have established “the occlusal power zone” (from the upper mesial-second premolar to the upper mesiolingual cusp-first molar) where stability and masticatory power are needed. The use of materials consisting of 3 varying hardness’s, results in easily achieved masticatory power in the artificial teeth and consequently the bio-occlusal facets, in individual patients are easily noted. ST21 are designed to withstand friction on the occlusal facets and control attrition accordingly. This revolutionary new concept, which we call the “Personal Occlusion” concept, is sure to change the face of dentistry, as we know it.

Power Zone

Regarding the new occlusal theory “Occlusal power zone”.

As people age their number of teeth decrease, the temporomandibular joint collapses and the movable area of the mandible gets wider. However, there is one thing that doesn’t change as people age, that is the origin and insertion of the orbicularis oris muscle, which is pulling the mandible. It is hypothesized that there is an occlusal area (Power Zone = E zone) provided by the orbicularis oris muscle, where the best usage is given without any biomechanical change (No Change). The area is located in the upper deciduous molar (from the upper mesial-second premolar to the upper mesiobuccal cusp-first molar) Systemic Teeth 21 (ST21) has set the power zone in the occlusal power zone and this zone is the most important for the stability of the denture as well as mastication.
